A pretty version of the classic chocolate chip cookies. Strawberry essence and food coloring give these cookies a hint of pink and sweet fruity scent. Here is an easy dessert recipe for Strawberry Chocolate Chip Cookies.
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
Pinch of salt
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
3/4 cup castor sugar
1 large egg
1/2 tsp. strawberry essence
Pink food color, as required
3/4 cup chocolate chips
Preheat oven to 180 C.
In a small bowl, combine flour, baking soda and salt; set aside.
Beat butter and sugar in a large bowl until creamy. Add egg and mix until well combined. Add in strawberry essence and food color.
Gradually add in flour mixture and beat until just combined. Fold in chocolate chips.
Drop dough by rounded teaspoons onto parchment-lined baking sheet 3 inches apart and refrigerate about 1 hour until well-chilled. When not chilled, cookies will flatten out during baking.
Bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until edges begin to brown. Cool on baking sheet for 2 minutes; transfer cookies to a wire-rack to cool completely.
Store in an air-tight container.
