Traditional campfire treat gets a makeover, turns into a year-round delight. Now, you don't need a bonfire to enjoy these yummy bites of roasted marshmallow and chocolate sandwiched between graham crackers. Here is an easy dessert recipe for S'mores Bars.
1/2 cup butter, room temperature
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 egg, room temperature
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 and 1/3 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 cup gluten-free or regular graham cracker crumbs*
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon fine sea salt
5 1.55oz Hershey's milk chocolate bars
1 and 1/2 cups marshmallow fluff
Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees; Spray a 9x9 inch baking dish with cooking spray.
Cream butter and sugar in a large bowl. Add egg and vanilla; beat to incorporate.
In another bowl, whisk together flour, graham cracker crumbs, baking powder and salt. Add mixture to the creamed butter and sugar. Mix until combined.
Transfer half the batter to the prepared baking dish and spread evenly over the bottom.
Layer the chocolate bars over the pressed dough and then spread the marshmallow fluff evenly over the chocolate. Carefully spread the remaining batter over the top of the marshmallow fluff.
Bake in pre-heated oven for 30 minutes. Cool in pan before cutting. Makes 9 bars.
