2 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
1 1/4 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon nutmeg
1 teaspoon cloves
1 cup chopped prunes
1 cup water
1/2 cup vegetable oil
3 large eggs
1 cup chopped nuts

Cream Cheese Frosting
1 (3-ounce) package cream cheese, softened
1 cup powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Milk, as needed

Pre-heat oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly greased and flour a 13x9x2-inch pan.

In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking soda, salt and spices; mix well. Add prunes, water, oil, eggs and nuts. Mix thoroughly with electric mixer or by hand. Pour batter into prepared pan.

Bake for 40 to 50 minutes or until cake tester inserted near center comes out clean.

Cool cake about 12 to 15 minutes before removing from pan. Cool completely on a wire rack.

Meanwhile, prepare cream cheese frosting by mixing together the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla extract and a small amount of milk. Blend until smooth. Add milk as necessary to get spreading consistency.

Place cooled cake in a cake stand or serving platter and spread cream cheese frosting over top and sides.
