Coconut Pecan Bars

3/4 cup powdered sugar
3/4 cup vegetable shortening
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
2 large eggs
1 cup brown sugar, packed
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup chopped pecans
1/2 cup flaked coconut

1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
2 tablespoons butter, melted
3 tablespoons orange juice
1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
toasted coconut flakes

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
To make the bars, compbine powdered sugar and shortening together; stir in 1 1/2 cups flour. Press dough in ungreased 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan. Bake 12 to 15 minutes or until light golden brown.

For the filling, mix together the eggs, brown sugar, flour, baking powder, salt, vanilla extract chopped pecans and coconut flakes. Spread over baked layer. Bake for another 20 minutes. Cool slightly. Cut into bars.

Combine powdered sugar, butter, orange and lemon juice into a thick paste. Spread on top of bars. Sprinkle with toasted coconut.
