Chocolate Bavarian Filling
1 (0.25-ounce) package unflavored gelatin
1 2/3 cups milk - divided use
2/3 cup granulated sugar
1/3 cup unsweetened baking cocoa
2 tablespoons butter
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup heavy cream

Sweetened Whipped Cream
1/2 cup heavy cream
1 tablespoon granulated sugar
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg

Prepare pie crust; set aside to cool.

To make the filling, soften 1 package unflavored gelatin in 1 cup milk in a saucepan, about 5 minutes. Add sugar and unsweetened baking cocoa. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly. Remove from heat.

Stir butter into chocolate mixture until melted. Transfer chocolate mixture to a bowl and blend in remaining 2/3 cup milk and vanilla. Chill until thickened, about 30 minutes.

Whip cream until stiff peaks form. Fold gently into the chilled chocolate mixture. Pour into baked pie crust and chill until firm.

Prepare the sweetened whipped cream: combine all ingredients in a bowl and beat until stiff. Pipe or spread over the chocolate filling. Chill until ready to serve.
