1/2 cup butter, softened
3/4 cup sugar
1 tablespoon honey
1-1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/8 teaspoon ground allspice
1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
2/3 cup strawberry jam
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
Preheat oven to 350°. Lightly grease a 9" baking pan.
Cream together butter and sugar in a medium bowl. Add in egg and honey.
In another bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, allspice and nutmeg. Gradually add to creamed mixture and beat until well-combined.
Divide the dough in half. Spread half into a lightly greased 9" square baking pan. Spread jam on top of the dough. Drop remaining dough by teaspoonfuls over jam. Sprinkle with walnuts.
Bake at 350° for 25-30 minutes or until top is golden brown. Cool on a wire rack. Cut into bars. This recipe makes 16 Strawberry Jam Bars.
