1 cup butter or margarine, softened
1 1/2 cups brown sugar, firmly packed
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 (12-ounce) package or 2 cups candy-coated chocolates
1 cup chopped nuts
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
Cream together butter and brown sugar in a medium bowl until light and fluffy. Add egg and vanilla.
In a separate bowl, combine flour and baking soda. Add to the creamed mixture and blend well. Fold in candy-coated chocolates and chopped nuts.
Spread the dough into a 13x9x2-inch baking pan.
Bake for 30 to 35 minutes, or until the center is set. Cool before cutting.
Makes 24 brownies.
