1 9-inch pie crust [RECIPE]

5-1/2 cups cooking apples, sliced
1 Tablespoon lemon juice
1/2 cup white sugar
1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
3 Tablespoon flour
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg

3/4 cup flour
1/4 cup white sugar
1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
1/3 cup butter
1/2 cup walnuts, chopped
caramel sauce, for garnish
whipped cream, for garnish

Pre-heat oven to 375 degrees. Fit the pie crust into a 9-inch pie pan; set aside.

In a large bowl, combine the sliced apples, lemon juice, white and brown sugars, flour, cinnamon and nutmeg. Spoon the mixture into the prepared pie crust.

To make the topping, mix together the flour, brown and white sugars, chopped walnuts and the butter using a pastry blender or fork until coarsely crumbled. Sprinkle over the apples.

Bake the pie for 50 minutes. Serve warm or cold with whipped cream and caramel sauce.
